Where it comes from
India has several established marble production regions — including Agra (known for inlay and decorative stonework), Makrana (historically significant fine white marble, associated with the Taj Mahal) and Jaipur (a major stone processing and trading hub). Natural variation is normal
Because marble is a natural material, veining and tone vary piece to piece — this isn't a manufacturing defect, it's inherent to the stone. If consistency across a large order matters to you, ask to see a sample range rather than a single piece, so you know what natural variation to expect.
What's different about ordering marble vs ceramics
- Weight — marble is heavier, which affects container planning and packaging.
- Fragility in transit — packaging needs to account for both weight and breakage risk.
- Finish, not glaze — customization is about polish, finish and sometimes inlay work rather than glaze colour.
